This link will take you to my new online teaching website! I have included three videos here of me telling you a bit more about whats going on in the site and about me! I have not shared my story in the past other than a bunch of lines of queer circumstances on my biography page on my CV. Here is your chance to see a little more detail but not too much! Might save that for a book (she keeps saying).

First an introduction to the site, in case you want to just get cracking and take up the brush, then a longer video about my background. I explain why I decided to add teaching to my long career as an exhibiting artist, and what motivated me to do this?  Things like where I came from, what the early experiences were that shaped me as an artist (warning, they were not 'standard'). Also I include a video of the workshops I have planned for the coming year. Very exciting topics in the oven at the moment so please join me. 

My courses are designed for any level of experience and I believe all levels of experience can gain something if we stay with the view that life is an adventure.
 
My view is that art is a very powerful took of expression that anyone should be able to access, and I believe that if we have some of the fears around just starting removed, we can then use it properly as I think it is best used - to express feelings and machinations we have that are simply unable to be put into words. 

Everyone can benefit from this workshop, from beginner to advanced.

We will start with a very loose underpainting, and let the painting grow and develop as we apply more and more layers - one step at a time. There is a very sound underlying process in this workshop despite it looking casual and loose. We will cover the use of composition, tone, colour, opacity/transparency, and balance, as well as 'how to' use paint. You will be able to apply the full process again and again in your future works, but get very different results depending on your own imaginative creative desires. The process will stand up to any subject.

I will be sharing my own creative machinations, discoveries and choices as I go, so you can see how it is inside the process (at least for me anyway!). 

My intention is for you to build confidence with me in this workshop, so that you may be able to just dive into your painting in the future without a shred of doubt - which can often happen to us when faced with a blank canvas.
